[Global Network Reporter Wang Yixuan] "After Russia launched an investigation into the biological research conducted by the United States in Ukraine, other parts of the world also raised similar suspicions." The Russian Satellite News Agency reported on the 26th that Indonesian media investigations found that the United States has not obtained Conduct biological research in Indonesia with the permission of the Indonesian government.

According to reports, DETIK, Indonesia's largest portal, revealed last month that the United States had conducted a "covert operation" in 2016 near the city of Padang in West Sumatra, Indonesia, to collect samples of human blood and rabid dogs.At the time, the U.S. Navy was conducting the 2016 Pacific Partnership exercise here.

Documents obtained by DETIK show that U.S. Navy surgeons operated on local patients aboard the USS Mercy and transported three rabid dogs from West Sumatra. And all of these actions were not approved by the Indonesian Ministry of Health. In addition, Padang health officials told DETIK that Americans want to collect dengue virus samples from local mosquitoes.

According to the report, an Indonesian reporter named Henry stated that he happened to visit the USS Mercy in 2005.Henry said he was asked by Americans to assist in finding "patients" for U.S. Navy surgeons to operate on."They (Americans) brought most of the patients to the ship from a hospital in Gunung Sitori County, Nias Island, Sumatra, where (the patients) were checked - but not all. The chief asked me if I could help They are looking for more patients to operate on."

In 2016, the U.S. Navy was "much more selective" about the selection of Indonesian "patients," according to a DETIK survey. All "candidates" undergo medical examinations in Penang, Malaysia.DETIK, citing sources, said the Americans violated local laws, especially with regard to the transfer of pathogens.

The United States "never admitted" that its navy violated Indonesian law during the 2016 exercise, the report said.

The satellite news agency's report also mentioned another suspected example of secret biological experiments conducted by the United States in Indonesia - the US Naval Biological Laboratory "US Naval Medical Research Institute 2 (NAMRU 2)", which was in the Indonesian capital from 1970 to 2009. The operation in a busy neighborhood in Jakarta was shut down by the Indonesian Ministry of Health for "posing a threat to Indonesia's sovereignty".

The NAMRU 2 laboratory was set up during a plague outbreak in Indonesia, but Supari, then Indonesia's health minister, told Sputnik news agency that U.S. help in the country's fight against the disease was "very minimal," she said. Just know that their labs are very closed, the researchers are all US marines, they all enjoy diplomatic immunity... We never know what's in their diplomatic briefcase, and some from Indonesia The researchers are helping them."

Supari told the media after a "surprise" visit to the NAMRU 2 laboratory in 2008 that the laboratory lacked transparency and did not share its research results with the Indonesian government.

Indonesian journalist Henry told Sputnik that when the story of the NAMRU 2 laboratory made headlines in Indonesia's major media, the laboratory was "almost burned down".Henry said he saw two foreign-looking people there preventing reporters from entering the lab grounds."The fire appears to have happened in the administration at NAMRU (the laboratory), where all the documents are kept. I didn't focus on that fact at the time, but in hindsight it seems like someone was trying to hide something," Henry said.

After the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with the exposure of the biological laboratory established by the United States in Ukraine, the global network of biological laboratories in the United States has become the focus of attention of all parties.According to the data released by the United States itself, the United States controls 336 biological laboratories in 30 countries around the world. The labs are part of the so-called "Bio-Synergy Program," funded and controlled directly by the Pentagon, and are mostly located in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.
