Two IDA Ireland-backed companies - Norman Disney & Young and Trailstone - have announcednew jobs for theirIrish operations .

Norman Disney & Young, an international construction services engineering consultancy, said it plans to expand its newly establishedIrish operationsin Dublin by adding 20 new jobs here .

NDY said it was recruiting engineers in Ireland for core engineering disciplines such as mechanical and electrical, as well as specialist engineering disciplines such as sustainability and digital engineering.

NDY is part of the Tetra Tech High Performance Buildings Group with operations in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe and throughout North America.

Its newly establishedIrish businessis focused on securing important and iconic projects across Europe, leveraging local engineering expertise to serve its clients.

Mike Arnold, NDY's Dublin-based NDY Regional Director, said that in addition to driving the adoption of smart building technologies, the company is helping its clients in Ireland and Europe become world leaders in decarbonizing buildings.

Meanwhile, global energy and technology company Trailstone Group also today announced plans to open a new office location in Sligo.

It plans to create up to 20 jobs over the next three years for the North West and for tech talent graduating from Atlantic University of Science and Technology Sligo.

Trailstone provides risk management, asset optimization and energy trading services to owners of renewable energy assets.

The company said its Sligo office will be its seventh and newest location, with others in the US, UK and Germany.

Trailstone CEO John Redpath said Sligo was the ideal place to expand and further its mission of sustainable energy development thanks to strong government support for renewable energy and its proximity to top technical universities.

Trailstone's work in sustainability software is now more important than ever, says Leo Varadkar.

“We need to keep the planet in a better state than we found it. Renewable energy plays a very important role, which is why we are committed to converting our grid to 80 percent renewable energy,” he added.
