According to foreign media reports, the European garlic industry has asked the EU to end China's "dumping" of garlic and to control frozen garlic exported to Europe with "exceeding quotas and low tariffs".Relevant industry groups pointed out that because the garlic is not actually frozen, it is only stored in containers at -4°C and sold as fresh garlic in Europe.
The above point of view was put forward at a recent meeting of the agriculture ministries of Spain, Italy and France in Toulouse, France.The next meeting of the Joint Committee on Fruit and Vegetables will be held in Lisbon, Portugal on May 31, as a preparatory meeting for the annual event.
