Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai said recently that China has played a leading role in safeguarding multilateralism.Chinese President Xi Jinping's global development initiative and global security initiative reflect China's efforts to promote sustainable development and peace in the world.
"Thailand supports China as a responsible major country in playing a constructive role in promoting global peace and sustainable development," he said in a written interview with a reporter from Xinhua.Thailand's bio-economy, circular economy and green economy model share the same concept with the above-mentioned initiatives proposed by China. They both focus on the purpose of people-oriented development and seek balanced, sustainable and inclusive growth.In view of this, "to implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Thailand and China can cooperate in many fields."
Don said that China launched the "Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative" at the United Nations Headquarters in New York this year, and Thailand has joined.This expresses the common expectation of both Thailand and China to maintain the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the Global Development High-level Dialogue: "China will increase resource investment in global development cooperation, integrate and upgrade the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund to the 'Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund', and will invest in the $3 billion An additional US$1 billion will be added to the foundation; it will increase investment in the China-United Nations Peace and Development Fund and support the development of cooperation in global development initiatives.”
