According to the "Yangcheng Evening News", on May 16, under the supervision of the Foshan Customs Office in Gaoming, a subsidiary of Guangzhou Customs, a batch of longan weighing 192 kilograms and worth 4,320 US dollars (about 29,200 yuan) was shipped by air. Canada officially kicked off this year's longan export from Guangzhou Customs District.

"The Maoming Chuliang longan fruit exported this time is large and round, crisp and sweet, it is an excellent variety of longan, and it is a national geographical indication product, which is favored by the majority of 'foodies'. Recently, export orders have come in one after another," Foshan said. Kuang Weiguang, manager of Bailigao Agricultural Products Co., Ltd., said.

"The quality of exported fruit is related to the income generation of enterprises and the increase of fruit farmers' income, and it is more related to the national image and international reputation. Therefore, we insist on controlling from the source, and strengthen supervision from registration, inspection and quarantine, annual verification, etc., to effectively ensure the quality of exported fruits," Wang Xiaoshan, Chief of the Inspection Section of the Foshan Customs Office in Gaoming, said.

Since longan and lychee are tropical fruits, the time of ripening, picking and listing is concentrated, the fresh-keeping period is short at room temperature, it is not easy to store, and it is easy to deteriorate. In view of the short fresh-keeping period of exported fruits, the Foshan Customs Office in Gaoming has opened up a "green channel" for export fruit customs clearance at the port, speeding up the connection of acceptance, quarantine, visa and other links, and continuously shortening the customs clearance time to ensure the "freshness" of exported fruits.
