According to a report from Chinanews.com, Erenhot Customs in Inner Mongolia pointed out that since the opening of the first “green channel” for agricultural products between China and Mongolia in 2018, as of the end of March 2022, the customs has supervised a total of 366,500 tons of exported fruits and vegetables, with a trade volume of 432 million yuan.

Erlianhot is located in the northern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, across the border from Zamyn-Uud Port in Mongolia. It is the most mainland port open to Mongolia in China, and undertakes over 70% of the land transportation tasks of Sino-Mongolian trade.

On September 20, 2018, the first green channel for quick customs clearance of agricultural products between China and Mongolia was opened. At that time, in order to ensure the normal operation of the channel, China and Mongolia Customs signed a green channel work cooperation agreement, opened up convenient channels, set up special personnel, special posts, and special windows, and gave priority to customs inspection and release procedures for agricultural products.

Local industry insiders said that due to the impact of the epidemic, Mongolia's domestic production capacity has declined, and its dependence on imported fruits and vegetables has continued to increase, while China's fruit and vegetable production industry has a good recovery momentum, and its production capacity and product quality have always maintained a high level.

According to the customs, since the opening of the first green channel for agricultural products in China and Mongolia, the customs has maximally met Mongolia's demand for fresh fruits and vegetables, helping the steady growth of fruit and vegetable export trade.
